BLOG 4: The gift and Power of emotional courage.

In this video, Susan David shares an important message about emotions. She explains that we should not see feelings as good and bad instead we should see them as a form of an information. I also agree with her that if we hide sad emotions with false positivity then they do not go away but becomes stronger over time.

Her personal story makes the message more accurate and clear. Growing up in Africa, she witnessed injustice and she lost her father at 15. To appear strong she hid her sadness even though her family condition was not good. This experience taught her that ignoring emotions can lead to more pain. This made me think that we try to push away difficult feelings instead of solving or learning from them.

Most important thing that I have learned from the video is that naming emotions correctly is very important. Instead of saying I'm stressed, we should recognise the feelings like sadness and this will help us to take the right action.
